An Extremely Rare and Unusual Boulle Clock
I have had this clock for a very long time.
The clock has a porcelain face with painted black numerals and
gold painted hands. Below the clock face is a pendulum that moves
easily back and forth. When the clocks lays down, the pendulum
falls back into the clock and you can't see it (Photo #2). Only
the front of the clock displays the Boulle decoration. But the
reverse of the design is rare. You have a gold background and the
rosewood shows the design. I might mention that a circular design
is found around the clock's face A scalloped pediment appears on
top of the clock. Only the front has decorative work, the other
three sides have beautiful rosewood of very fine quality.
NOW FOR THE BEST FEATURE- IN THE LAST PHOTO, YOU CAN SEE A KNOB ON
THE SIDE OF THE CLOCK AND WHEN PULLED DOWN, YOU CAN HEAR IT RING!
