Rare Boulle Upright Piano
I have taken several photos to show you the
construction of this fine piano. It is all original and is all intact without
any restoration. A good photo of this piano is in Vivien Greene's book,
Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Dolls' Houses, published in 1955.
The cut out work over the keyboard is
exceptional and the original fabric is placed behind it. The gold transfer
work is above and below the keyboard, is on top of the piano and even on the
sides. The rosewood lid over the keyboard and the turned front legs supporting
the keyboard do not have the gold decoration. As you will see in the photos,
the sides of the piano have tiny brass nails that go around the entire edge or
trim of the piano's side. The lid over the keyboard lifts to expose paper
piano keys. The piano is well made and is very sturdy. A
very special piece for your collection.
