Early Lighting Fixture

I have seen this lighting fixture in green, rose and this amber colored glass. When I lived in the historical district in Portsmouth, NH, I use to see these lighting fixtures in hallways of houses built in the 18th Century. One would place a candle in the base of the round bowl which would be attached by chains to the smoke bell on top. This fixture was in the lower hall of the Ramís Head House.

Measurements: It suspends downward about 3-1/2Ē from the ceiling

Circa: This one was made in the 19th Century
