A Great Ivory Birdcage
An incredibly detailed ivory birdcage! There are bars around all four sides with carved posts on the corners. At the top and bottom of the cage are carved borders and an elaborate one is carved on top of the cage with a holder on top. Inside are two flesh tone colored birds. They are perched on an ivory bar that is painted green. (Note: one must look very hard to find any missing pieces of ivory. As you know, these pieces are old and fragile). I would pack in cotton batting and double box.
Measurements: 1-3/4"h. (to top of holder) x 1-3/4"w. (from knob on side to end of cage]
Circa: 19th Century
