A Pair of Exceptional Lamp Shades
These lamp shades were commercially made as I
have seen them in dolls' house collections and museums. They are found on
ormolu floor lamps and on the very expensive soft metal lamps that have the
light fixture go up through the table and have a bristol globe on top. I can
send a sample of a lamp if you like. The lamp shades are made of wire on the
four sides and then there are four pieces of wire connecting from the base
up to the center where there is an opening (so the shade can set over a
chimney to a lamp) Fabric is placed over this area and then lace on top.
Fancy glass beads are mounted on the edge of the shades on all four sides
and done in loops. On top of the lace are ribbons connecting to bows on the
corners. I have tried to show these shades in a number of positions!
