An Ebony Boulle Upright Piano

Instead of seeing the more common rosewood Boulle, we now have a black Boulle piano. These ebony pieces are much more rare and were made earlier than the rosewood pieces. This one has the cut-out form above the keyboard. The cut-out spaces resemble Gothic windows with a drapery behind them. The cover over the keyboard lifts up to reveal a paper keyboard in black and white. Beautiful turned spindles support the keyboard and are attached to the base. Under the keyboard are exceptional gold transfer designs that enhance the piece greatly. This would be great in a parlor or in a room of musical instruments!
