An Ormolu Clock with Dome
A wonderful clock with a cupid blowing a horn and leaning back on the clock. The clock has a paper face which I believe is original as I have seen similar clocks in silver mounted on a tinplate base with a dome. I think the dome lends itself in making the piece more special in viewing it. It fits perfectly in the groove that goes around the edge of the tin base. The scene is done as a flat piece, thereby not having much thickness. A marvelous piece to set on top of a piano, mantle or on a special side table. The ormolu is very strong and brilliant.
Measurements: When the clock is placed under the dome, it measures 2-3/4”h. x 2-1/2”w.
Circa: 19th Century
