A Tiny Grodnertal Wooden Doll in a Basket

The basket is mother of pearl with ormolu trim around the edges and a twisted ormolu handle. Lying inside the basket is a tiny wooden –jointed doll.  For a long time, this doll has been in this basket as one could see her better and she would never get lost. What an incredible pair to display on a table! She came to me many years ago with a number of these larger wooden dolls, her limbs all bend, but I would leave her in a safe place.

Measurements: The doll is ¾”, the basket is 1-1/2”h. x 1-5/8”long

Circa: The basket is late 19th Century, the doll is early 19th Century
