A Rare Tin Stevens and Brown Bureau
This early tin bureau was made by Stevens and Brown around 1874.in Cromwell, CT. There are four drawers that open and have stenciling on each drawer, on top of the bureau and on the sides. The stenciling has several small designs that make up the whole pattern and are done in navy blue. The main background color is more of a medium blue and the inverted door knobs are painted a dark barn red. On the top and sides the stencil work is much simpler with the stencil in the center and red lines for borders. Although there is paint missing on the front and back, the bureau still remains sturdy! A very special tin piece for your collection.
