Toleware Tray

This lovely tin tray with exquisite painting is the best one I have seen in miniature. The shading of the roses and intricate design is wonderful in the center of the tray. The gold painted design work around the edge of the tray certainly enhances the overall design. This type of decorated tin is called toleware and was popular in the mid 1800's. (Toleware is painted designs on tin and varnished)
