A Boulle Bed with Drapery
This bed came with the Cushman House! The elaborate dressing that appears on the back of the bed is held in place by a rod that is covered with the same pale aqua silk that is shown from the back. The silk is melting, so I would attach a panel of antique silk to reinforce it. A long panel of lace has been gathered and attached to the silk. Maroon ribbons tie the lace back to the corners of the bed. The same maroon ribbon is found on the crown on top. It appears that this draping is like a half tester bed. The bed covering has a deep red background with and overlay of lace. The Boulle bed has a high headboard in which the draping is tied to in order to keep it tight.
Measurements: The drapery on the bed is 11- ¼”h. The bed is 7-1/4”long.
Circa: 19th Century
