Lovely Conte & Bohme Parian Dollhouse Lady
The incredible Conte & Bohme dolls have such unique features and in this particular doll her blue painted eyes have a sculpted upper eyelid that creates that "sleepy look" as part of the iris under the eyelid is hidden. Being a lady with blonde hair, it is difficult to see comb marks at her temple, but the elaborate rolled curls on the back of her head with the blue headband in front certainly are special. Her facial painting is very soft and I think it looks softer without any lining of the eyelid. Her mouth is quite distinctive of Conte & Bohme dolls with the painted high peaks and deep valley on the upper lip.
Her gown is quite lavish with pale soft green and beige silk and satin with ruffled tiers extending from the neckline down to the skirt of the gown. (Note: Some melting on the front of the gown) From the back we can see a long train sewn in three sections that gives her an elegant appearance. Bows are sewn on several ruffled borders including at the neckline, waist, down the sides and at the skirt of the hem. Her undergarments include two lace petticoats and bloomers with lace, pleats and bows! She is wearing flat black shoes. What an elegant lady for that special room in your dolls' house.
