An Early Reverse Painting on Glass
Imagine painting this scene in reverse! There is a lady in a blue dress and yellow hat that is sitting at a table writing with a red cloth draped on it. The chair is painted yellow. She is surrounded by shrubbery in various forms with soil and grass around her.
The painting is trimmed in the original Dresden gold paper which is all intact. This is a wonderful example of early painting on glass which we rarely find.
