An Incredible Ormolu Display Cabinet
The ormolu that is so lavishly shown has never been touched or changed! The gold wash is as brilliant and beautiful as the day it was made. So many I have seen have some discoloration in green or black which is when the gold oxidizes. The photos show it very well. The latch on the door turns and opens the door to reveal three shelves with impressed designs that will display small miniature items so well. The beveled glass door certainly highlights the contents placed on the shelves. The front and sides are glass so that you get maximum exposure of miniature objects. The ormolu decoration throughout has raised motifs with scalloped edges. The cabinet stands on four ball feet and the pediment on top gives it such an elegant presentation. A fine piece to display china in the dining room or to display small objects in the parlor!
