A Rare and Unusual Boulle Sewing Stand

The top on the sewing stand lifts up to reveal the interior which has compartments to hold sewing tools or sewing pieces. A mirror trimmed in gold paper is glued under the top of the cabinet. The entire piece has the Boulle designs. The top or cover to the stand has a wonderful design that shows a building in the oval center. A fancy design encompasses the rest of table top. The sides have lots of gold transfer work with a cut out white diamond on each side. A thin strip of gold paper surrounds the mirror and also outlines all the little compartments. When the lid is opened, a mirror outlines the interior. A strip of wood joins the side legs.
