A Rare and Unusual Cradle
I had placed a couple of photos of this cradle on my Home Page, hoping
someone could give me more information. It actually came with a large
Christian Hacker dolls' house with a greenhouse on the second floor. Among
some of the furniture was some of the Paul Leonhardt furniture.
This cradle has such an unusual form with metal decoration painted gold on
three sides. The hood is plain and in mint condition! It has a thin piece
of cloth that is attached to the trim work around the top of the hood. (I
think the cloth is to cover the opening of the cradle to keep the flies
away!) The base is quite unique. The legs are mounted on a base and
crisscross and are connected to a carved rod that holds it in place.
Measurements: The cradle measures 7"h at the top of the hood x 6-1/2"w. x
3-1/8"d.
Circa: 19th Century
Price: $495
