A Fancy and Special Boulle Secretary

This particular Boulle secretary has a few additions that are not found on most of these pieces. First I would say that overall gold transfer work has more fine detail that would remind one of church windows and pilasters bracing the inside of a church! The molding on top slants on the sides and supports a narrow railing around three sides. The white banding has five pieces and separates the drawers and the drop front. The base has graduated moldings to enhance the appearance. When the drop front pulls down, one sees an aqua paper interior with a long mirror in the back. The quatrefoils embellish the interior as one peers inside to see the inner drawer with its fine gold elaborate design on top. The gold foil paper trim makes the interior quite fine and frames the narrow drawer below. A superb interior! Three drawers in varying sizes are found on the front of the desk. Excellent quality!
