A Very Special Mantle Clock
This clock was purchased at an auction in Chicago several years ago. I
have not seen another one like it. The ormolu is strong and brilliant. The
porcelain face has numbers with red hands! Beautiful decorative beadwork
surrounds the clock face while the ormolu decoration has impressed designs
and indented areas to form an unusual design. The bottom of the clock has
unusual shapes of scaled serpents that hold up the clock and also spread
across the base. The clock is mounted on a base of tan velvet which also
has a beaded ormolu strip. The clock is supported on little tiny balls
that are glued under the base. A very special piece indeed!
