Tynietoy Treasures [10]

I had a feeling that this fountain might actually work! You can see the box attached to the garden wall and a pipe going from the box

(which is lined in metal) connects through the wall into the fountain! How clever, a working fountain!

The entire Tynietoy garden is shown here! We can view the shrubbery in pots, four trellises, the two garden settees (one in tan and the other in green),

a painted area in the center of the garden resembles low growing shrubbery under the sundial, a birdbath at the end of a walk, a lawnmower up against

the garden wall next to the tan settee, white low benches painted to look like marble, and the box attached to the for water that goes into the

fountain (between the trellises). What a treasure and thank you for sharing this special piece.

We are now viewing the second floor hallway of the Mansion as you can see the Palladian window in the background.

This photo just shows a part of the hallway with the staircase and furnishings up against the stairs. My eyes go immediately to

the green Tynietoy Japanned furniture with the gold decoration that includes two Hepplewhyte chairs and a demi lune table.

These pieces actually show wear on them and the stripped green and cream colored seat coverings look old and worn. Look at the

painted decoration on the backs of the chairs. (I’d like to request a photo of just the chairs so we may study them more closely).

Of course the porcelain dishes in green are very striking too! The Black maid is very scarce and she is delightful in

her blue dress with her white collar and white apron. The red banana on her head matches her duster!

We are back now to the Tynietoy Mansion and about to enter the hallway on the first floor. One cannot help but be drawn to the incredible

table lamp on the table. I have never seen a Tynietoy lamp with the base painted to match the shade! It certainly is beautiful and it carries

the same pink-salmon colors of the upholstery on the Mt. Vernon settee, chairs, demi-lune table and a piano stool. But you must look again

to see the gold decoration on the furniture  which we discussed earlier as Japanned furniture. A peggity doll is sitting on the settee and a

grandfather’s clock is tucked in the corner. This is quite an amazing hallway!

We are continuing to discuss the second hallway of the Tynietoy Mansion-  on the right side of the hall we see the Hepplewhyte settee

and a matching arm chair that has a soft yellow background with a tan motif painted on the seat. This does stand out nicely against

the mahogany stain on the rest of the settee. Above the settee is a wonderful Tynietoy portrait of George Washington. Oh my, another

great floor lamp with a gorgeous shade of olive green with darker green leaves and white camellias! In the back corner is the telephone

table and chair with a black telephone neatly tucked in next to the Palladian window. (next time we will see a close up of those rare

green Hepplewhyte chairs with Japanned decoration).
