Tynietoy Treasures [5]

Here are two more views of the Spanish desk. Notice the detailed handle on the side for carrying the desk.

We will show a future Spanish desk where the drawers open! When the desk is closed, one can see the decorations with red paint under them.

Was the red to resemble leather?

The Spanish bed has beaded posts and the headboard has a painted urn with cascading flowers flowing out of the urn and down the sides.

The urn rests on a scalloped formed headboard with cut outs below. The painting is beautiful and very decorative, to say the least!

There are slight variations in the decoration of the Spanish bed headboards

In the foreground, one can see the lovely Spanish chaise! I have seen them with a long velvet cushion on the chaise too. The owner has identified this room as “Sherlock’s Room”.

This room has so many treasures; like the floor lamp, the gorgeous bonnet top highboy, the great folding screen with roses painted on all the panels, the high carriage typewriter,

a bookcase for Sherlock to use and the we see eyeglasses, and a book by Sherlock on the chaise! We can’t forget the wonderful Peggity doll standing amongst all these Tynietoy furnishings!
